How to update personal details through myIR

In this video you’ll find out how to do the following through myIR Secure Online Services.

To get started, log in to myIR and select 'Manage refund bank accounts' underneath 'I want to...'.


Visual:

Select the 'Add a new bank account' tab.

A cursor appears in the first box of the form and begins typing in the bank account number, before moving over and filling in the name on the account.

Enter the details of the bank account you want your refund to go to. This includes the name on the account, and the bank account number, which should be added one box at a time.


Visual:

The mouse cursor clicks 'Yes' underneath "Is this a credit union or building society account?", which is set at 'No' by default. A number is typed into the reference number box.

If the account is for a credit union, remember to enter the reference number.

Choose the tax types you want the bank refund account added to. You can choose more than one.

Check all the details on the page are correct and select 'Submit'.

To update your phone numbers and email address, go to 'Settings' from the myIR homepage.


Visual:

The mouse cursor clicks on the 'Edit' button at the top of the "Logon details" tab, which is highlighted briefly with a blue circle. On the next page, the email address box is selected and a new email address is typed in.

Choose the details you want to change and update them.

The drop-down menu under "Receive notifications by" is highlighted with a blue circle. The mouse cursor moves over to click on it and selects 'Email and text messages' from the notification menu. The cursor moves down and clicks on the 'Save' button, bringing us back to the "Logon settings" page before fading to teal.

You can also choose how you want to get notifications from us. The box for 'Receive notifications by' has three options. Use the drop-down arrow to select an option.

To change your physical or postal address, select 'My details' from the myIR homepage.


Visual:

The 'My details' tab shows the name and address of the customer. The page dims and some details listed in blue are highlighted. The mouse cursor moves over and clicks on the address listed beside "Physical address."

Details you can update are shown in blue. To update a postal address, hover your mouse over the blue area and click into the details.


Visual:

The page changes to one with the heading 'Current physical address', with an address listed underneath it. A blue circle highlights the 'Change this address' button below the address, and the mouse moves up to click on it.

Select the address you want to change and click on 'Change this address'.

The screen changes to bring up an address form. The cursor moves down to click on the "Street address" box and begins typing in a new address. A blue circle highlights the 'Verify your address' button and the cursor moves down to click on it.

Type in your details and select 'Verify your address'.

The screen dims slightly as a window labelled 'Address search' pops up. There are 2 boxes, one with the address as entered and one with a verified address. The cursor clicks on the verified address and the window closes.

This will check your address against data from NZ Post.


Visual:

The 'Next' button is highlighted by a blue circle, and the mouse cursor moves down to click on it. The page changes to one labelled "Review", and the text boxes with the address in them turn grey.

When you've finished, select next and read through the information on the page to make sure you've added your details correctly.


Visual:

The mouse clicks on the 'Previous' button, which takes us back to the address form. The address is changed and the new address is verified, before the cursor clicks on next to go back to the "Review" page.

If you've made a mistake, select 'Previous' and go back to where you made the mistake to fix it.

When your details are correct, select 'Submit'.
