Updating your bank account and contact details

We need your correct bank account and contact details so we can get hold of you to make sure you get your tax refunds and social policy payments such as child support, Working for Families tax credits, and paid parental leave payments quickly.

You can instantly update your contact and bank account details in your myIR Secure Online Services account for all tax types, even if you would not normally expect a refund. If you do not update your personal details, any refund you may have will sit with us until we have up-to-date details. By updating your contact and bank account details now, it can save you time and money later .


You can only update your bank account details online.

If you can't update your other contact details online, you'll need to complete and send in a Have you changed your name, address or phone number? (IR238) form.

Your contact details will be updated in approximately 5 working days if you use one of these services.
