Biographies of Taxpayers' Simplification Advisory Board members

Henri Eliot, Board Dynamics Chief Executive and Chair of Inland Revenue's Taxpayers' Simplification Advisory Board 

Henri founded Board Dynamics in 2009 after 15 years in strategy and management consulting. Board Dynamics provides advice to chairmen and directors on the effectiveness and impact of the board and its committees. He has also held a number of senior executive positions at Deloitte in New York City and the Bank of Montreal in Toronto. More recently, Henri worked in Telecommunications and ICT services in New Zealand.

Henri is a regular contributor to a number of publications including The New Zealand Herald, National Business Review and the Sunday Star Times. Henri is passionate about diversity in particular diverse boards of directors in small and medium sized companies.

Scott Mason, Managing Principal of Tax Advisory at Crowe Horwath

Scott is Managing Principal of Tax at Crowe Horwarth. He is based in Dunedin but has a national role at Crowe Horwath leading a team of approximately 45 tax practitioners. He advises mainly SMEs and individuals including entrepreneurs. He is a chartered accountant and a member of CAANZ's Tax Advisory Group.  Scott is also responsible for TEO, New Zealand's premium training company for accountants and lawyers in primarily tax topics and is a director of several tech start-up's focused on education issues.

Scott spent his early years of his career in practise in the UK, Wellington and Invercargill before joining Crowe Horwath in Otago as a taxation specialist in 1998.

Raewyn Fox, Chief Executive of NZ Federation of Family Budgeting Services

Since 1999 Raewyn has been the CEO of the NZ Federation of Family Budgeting Services Inc., which is a not-for-profit organization providing free budget advice. Prior to that she managed a local budget service in Porirua for 13 years and was an active part of the Governance Structure of the Federation for the majority of this time. Raewyn also works in the field of Consumer Representation and spent six years on the Governance Board of the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman Commission and two years on the Government Taskforce for the Regulation of Financial Intermediaries.

Lisa Ford, General Manager of Business Mentors New Zealand

Lisa was appointed General Manager of Business Mentors New Zealand in August 2015. Prior to this she was the National Agency Manager for BMNZ for three years managing the 18 agencies nationwide. In September 2007, she joined Enterprise North Shore as Agency Manager for the Auckland North region working at the ‘coalface’ with more than 320 volunteer mentors and her local business community. Lisa brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the construction, pharmaceutical, FMG, aviation, IT and not for profit sectors in New Zealand and the UK. Lisa is passionate about business owners reaching their full potential in New Zealand.
